Cross Country:
Cross Country creates a bond with my teammates that I am sure no other sport could replicate. We suffer through the long mile routes together. We travel in "packs" into random gas stations and fast food places asking for cups of water on the especially long routes. We create a bond that feels amazing. Some say that suffering brings people closer together; not that I'm implying that running creates suffering, but we are able to understand each other through the pain of sprinting the last 100 meters or the pain of running 5 miles in the humid 90 degree ( sometimes 100 degree) weather! On the track, it didn't matter what differences we had, everyone knew the pain of running in the heat. Although having such a time-consuming sport gave me a lot of stress on my academics, I was able to have time to think while I ran for miles. I was able to contemplate on things in my life and goals that I dreamed of achieving. Running is wonderful. The feeling that you get after crossing the finish line is full of bliss and relief.
